Paraguay will host an event that will create an International Network of National Mechanisms for Follow-up on International Recommendations in HRD

Asunción, IP Agency.- Within the framework of the II International Seminar on National Mechanisms for Implementation, Reporting and Monitoring of International Human Rights Recommendations (NMIRFs), which will be held in Asunción on May 8 and 9, experts from around the world will meet in our country to address the importance of national mechanisms in the promotion and protection of human rights.

This event seeks to promote the exchange of experiences and good practices between States; strengthen coordination with other relevant actors and create an International Network of National Mechanisms, through the adoption of the Asunción Declaration, in order to promote cooperation between States in the field of human rights.

The National Implementation, Reporting and Monitoring Mechanisms (NMIRF) emerge as a key tool to coordinate the preparation of reports and promote the monitoring and implementation of human rights commitments at the national level.

The meeting will be structured around presentations, group discussions and plenary sessions in which topics such as information management systems and tools of various types of National Mechanisms will be addressed; identification of opportunities for cooperation and technical assistance for exchange of experiences; strengthening civil society participation; involvement of local governments and the role of the Legislative Branch in the implementation of recommendations on human rights.

Paraguay is highlighted for its leadership in the field and the successful experience of SIMORE Plus is internationally recognized, which as a foreign policy tool has allowed the country greater international presence and visibility. To date, Paraguay has shared this experience through technical cooperation with seven countries in the region.

The organization points out that this seminar represents a unique opportunity to strengthen international cooperation in the field of human rights. By bringing together experts from around the world, the event will help promote best practices and advance the protection of human rights globally.
