Paraguay receives Colombia in the qualifying process for the 2027 Rugby World Cup

Asunción, IP Agency.-The match will be played this Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Héroes de Curupayty stadium with free admission.

After winning phase 1 of the qualifiers for the XV World Rugby Championship, Colombia must face Paraguay in the second round, in a duel that will give the fourth and last classified to the other phase.

The winner moves on to the next stage of the World Cup qualifier, which will be a quadrangular between Uruguay, Chile, Brazil and the winner of the Paraguay-Colombia match.

In turn, whoever wins that home run qualifies for the Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia and the second goes to a playoff against the fourth in the Pacific and the third to a world playoff.

The 11th edition of the premier men’s event will see the world’s best teams compete for the right to lift the Webb Ellis Cup over six weeks, from October 1 to November 13, 2027.

The new format will feature six groups of four teams, with a round of 16 added before the quarterfinals. This will allow the tournament window to be reduced from seven to six weeks, while promoting a pace that builds momentum throughout the group stage and respects the same minimum number of rest days between matches as at France 2023.
