Asuncion, IP Agency.- Hundreds of operators, travel agents and associations from the tourism sector participated in the trade mission “Tourism and Investments in Paraguay”, which took place at the Marriott Hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. It is part of the strategic axes of the Master Plan for Sustainable Development of the Tourism Sector of Paraguay, in order to position the Paraguayan tourism offer in the Bolivian market, highlighting new destinations to discover.
It was organized by the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur), with support from the Embassy and the General Consulate of Paraguay in Bolivia and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, through the Investment and Export Network (REDIEX).
The Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce, Lorena Méndez, and the Director of Interinstitutional Affairs of Rediex, Javier Viveros, presented “Paraguay: Energy that connects.”
The Director of Tourism Services of Senatur, Andrés Ortíz, presented the material “Paraguay Tourist Destination”, carrying the greeting of the Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte. On the occasion, he stressed the importance of promoting the country’s attractions in the region and in the world.
The delegation included representatives from the Paraguayan Embassy in La Paz, the Consul General of Paraguay in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Julio Echague, as well as the airlines Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) and Paranair.
Also participating were businesspeople from the tourism sector, Betania Plate, from Paraguay Sothebys; Cynthia Piotti Flores and Fernanda Tudela from Boliviana de Aviación (BoA); Gabriel Fernández and Adriana Benítez from Dazzler Hotel and Gabriela Aranda, from Martin Travel. In addition to Juan Rojas, Bronce Hotels Group; Fátima Franco, Gran Bourbon Asunción Hotel and Drago Comadina, from Paranair, with a business roundtable to strengthen the connection with their Bolivian peers.
The meeting focused on tour operators, travel agents and tourism associations of Santa Cruz, presenting unique experiences of nature, community tourism, the Jesuit Route, the Sugar Cane Route, gastronomic tours, artisan and cultural routes.
This trade mission represents a significant step towards the consolidation of Paraguay as an attractive tourist destination in the Bolivian market, promoting exchange and cooperation between both countries.
