Asuncion, IP Agency.- Rediex Vice Minister Rodrigo Maluff stressed that the Government’s efforts are attracting the interest of investors seeking to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Paraguay.
“On a normal day like yesterday we received a mission from Taiwanese people seeking to reactivate an industrial park in Ciudad del Este. We had a visit from Chilean businessmen who have been operating in the country for more than seven years and President Santiago Peña ended the day with one of the largest biofuels industrialists in Brazil,” he explained in an interview with Paraguay TV.
He highlighted the growth of the Investment and Export Network (Rediex) as a point of promotion and facilitation of investments. “Today we have the responsibility, not only of attracting investments, but also of positioning the Paraguay brand in the world.”
One of the sectors with the greatest potential is forestry, where Paraguay attracts the interest of institutional investors, even without having investment grade. “We are talking about Canadian pension funds, sovereign wealth funds from Singapore, invested in the forestry sector,” he said.
Country Brand
Rediex also manages the Country Brand, which currently has 11 licensees, most of whom are exporters who bring Paraguayan products to shelves around the world.
Those interested in the “Country Brand” seal can register on the Rediex website to submit the application form. Applications to promulgate the new “Country Brand” are evaluated every quarter, Maluff explained.
