Asunción, IP Agency.- The Minister of Labor, Mónica Recalde, and her colleague from Peru, Daniel Maurate, signed an agreement to promote and facilitate cooperation and mutual technical assistance in labor matters, with special emphasis on the promotion of youth employment and social security.
This bilateral agreement was formalized during the XXII Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor of the Organization of American States (OAS), which takes place in Bogotá, Colombia, between October 23 and 24.
Through this alliance, the labor authorities of Paraguay and Peru seek to improve the effectiveness of policies and actions aimed at promoting decent employment and working conditions.
In particular, both ministers stressed the importance of providing young people with access to relevant and quality information on training opportunities, as well as the need to align training provision with the current and future demands of the labor market.
The parties agreed to cooperate on programs that promote the formalization of employment, improving the quality of vocational training for young people, and adaptation to the future of work in the digital age, reported the Ministry of Labor.
Priority will also be given to job intermediation, especially for people with disabilities, as well as quality dual training for young people. In addition, work will be done on the prevention and eradication of child labor and the protection of the rights of adolescent workers, among other topics of mutual interest.
To achieve these objectives, both countries will implement technical assistance for the design and execution of strategies and public policies, promote the exchange of knowledge and good practices, and develop programs to strengthen human capital.
Likewise, joint research studies will be carried out on occupational demand and labor economic observatory.
