Paraguay and Argentina promote regional integration to promote river tourism

Asunción, IP Agency.- Authorities from Ñeembucú, (Paraguay), and Corrientes, (Argentina), recently signed a regional integration act, whose objective is to promote river tourism as an engine of economic and cultural development between both regions.

“The development of river tourism will not only depend on promotion, but also on guaranteeing legal security. We will work together with the authorities of both countries to create a regulatory framework that favors the growth of this activity,” said Patricio Ortega, head of the Merchant Marine Directorate.

Likewise, he highlighted the importance of promoting collaboration between the authorities of both countries to guarantee that navigation services are safe and efficient, reported the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

These infrastructure improvements will not only benefit tourists, but will also boost commerce and strengthen the local economies of Ñeembucú and Corrientes.

The act formalizes the commitment of Ñeembucú and Corrientes to collaborate in the promotion and development of river tourist routes, prioritizing sustainability, accessibility and the strengthening of local economies.

This agreement seeks to turn river tourism into a key source of income for both communities, taking advantage of its privileged location around the rivers and promoting cultural and social integration between Paraguay and Argentina.
