Faille Paradoxe is the fifth set (fourth main) of the Écarlate et Violet block which brings its share of new features since we have the arrival of cards stamped Future (Future Time) and Ancient (Past Time). Apart from having the words Past Time or Future Time on it, the right side of the map has a unique visual style. Of course, they also have an impact in the game, because each style has its own specificities which you will find below.
Past Time Pokémon have lots of HP and are equipped with powerful, high-cost attacks.
Future Time Pokémon, for their part, excel in speed and technique and have low attack and retreat costs.
In addition, there are also Past Time and Future Time Trainer cards who come to support the corresponding Pokémon
The following classification is purely subjective and will mainly put so-called “alternative” cards forward, but even the drawings of common cards can also be part of it.
You can find the complete list of cards in the expansion on the official Pokémon website. Do not hesitate to share your opinion in comments.
10th: Ramboum (rare illustration)
To begin this classification, here is Ramboum in his rare illustration. We find it in a design that may be mixed, but which we appreciate. The decor is reminiscent of the style of graffiti found in games like The World Ends With You or its sequel.
9ème : Motorizard (illustration rare)
Here, we find ourselves with Motorizard serving as a means of transport for their trainers. An illustration that remains quite simple in itself, but which clearly highlights Pokémon in an everyday environment.
8th: Météno (rare illustration)
Who has never dreamed of seeing a shower of stars at night? Well, that’s what this very successful illustration of Météno offers, where we find all the forms of the latter. It is logical that we put this card in our top.
7ème : Stalgamin (illustration rare)
Stalgamin is not necessarily a Pokémon that we like, however, its rare illustration in the Paradox Rift expansion is really very beautiful. We find him having fun in the snow like a child would. A choice that makes him more adorable than he might let on and it is therefore logical that we put him in this top.
6th and 5th: Hurle-Queue (classic and promo)
Many Paradox Pokémon are available in this expansion, but the one we have chosen to highlight is Howl Tail. Its classic version is perhaps not the most beautiful of the set, however, the illustration and the addition of the “Past Time” style allows it to rise in our ranking. Its rare illustration version from the Elite Trainer Box is placed just in front, because it offers an alternative where Howl-Tails finds itself perfectly anchored in the decor.
4ème : Babimanta (illustration rare)
We find a researcher who goes to sit at his office and looks towards the porthole where he sees a Babimanta. A staging that allows both the Pokémon and the character to be highlighted.
2nd and 3rd: Gromago ex (rare special illustration) and Modudor (rare illustration)
It’s difficult to separate Gromago from its pre-evolution because the two cards are linked. All in a drawing style that looks really good. We obviously find them surrounded by gold coins.
1er : Groudon (illustration rare)
We find ourselves with a Groudon which is its territory by encroaching on the sea, the territory of its sworn enemy Kyogre. In the background, we have two erupting volcanoes pouring lava which extends into the foreground.
