Parade in San Diego causes closure of roads in Downtown

SAN DIEGO, California, December 28, 2022.- This Wednesday the new edition of the “Holiday Bowl Parade” begins, for which reason some avenues in downtown San Diego will not have the usual circulation.

Authorities indicated that on this occasion the famous parade will begin at 10:00 am and will take place from Harbor Drive, at the height of the Convention Center, until ending on Pacific Coast Highway at G Street.

The route of past editions began at the San Diego County Administration building, south of Grape Street, on North Harbor Drive, ending south on Harbor Drive.

The organizers point out that the “Holiday Bowl Parade” will consist of 24 giant balloons, three floats, 18 specialized units and 12 marching bands, where university bands will also participate.

After the event, the Holiday Bowl game will be held at Petco Park at 5 pm, with the match between the Oregon and North Carolina schools, which was not possible during the last edition.

In addition, the “Holiday Bowl 5K Walk/Run” race is held, which is scheduled to take place from Park Boulevard at the corner with Harbor Drive and to Ruocco Park, where the participation of at least a thousand runners is estimated.

It should be noted that during this weekend the “San Diego International Auto Show” will be held inside the Convention Center, it will begin on December 30 and will continue until January 2.

The event will feature late-model vehicles from all makes, as well as test drives so buyers can experience before purchasing the cars.
