The caustic comedy “Papaya Mantoles”, by Antonis Krysilas, directed by Patrini Petra Mavridis, will be presented for two days in Patras (Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May, at 21.00 at Epikentro+) and one day in Nafpaktos (Saturday 25 May, at 21.00 at the Polychoros Technis Workshop).
This is the award-winning black comedy by Antonis Krysilas that tells the story of an accomplished Chef from absolute glory to a prison cell. A story given with caustic humor, which composes a culinary canvas from completely disparate ingredients! But it doesn’t stop there. The work goes deeper and does not hesitate to name the bad texts of the time both in the political scene of the country and in the modern way of life.
The “bad boy of cooking” as the author calls him says everything that we have all thought but no one has dared to do. As he mentions in the text: Of course I might do what they asked me to do. Bank them, collect half the annual budget and plug it. As I always did. As we all always do. I would be out now. Accomplished. But not free either!
“Papaya Mandoles” has the menu and we are waiting for you to enjoy it. Come guilt free!

Author’s note
“Papaya Mandoles” was written in 2009. Back then the channels were full of televangelists, but there were cases of fainting in schools, from hunger. It is a purely political text, however much it hides it…
I live for the day when this text becomes obsolete. Which will only talk regarding bad old days. But since that day will probably never come, enjoy it and bon appetit!
