On the “Happy Day” show, he spoke Dimitris Papanotasfollowing the Stefanos Kasselakis’ decision to remove him from the SYRIZA European ballot on the occasion of his statements on gender violence. “I don’t like that I was dismissed when I was ready to resign, it’s unethical” he commented.
Speaking to Stamatina Tsimtsilis, Dimitris Papanotas initially commented that “I don’t want to do the favor of those who disappointed me, to understand that together with me, they disappointed a lot of people”, while he then thanked the “thousands of SYRIZA voters, who sent me messages of support. The messages were over 3,000 and the abusive ones were 3, I was impressed.”
Papanotas: The background to his dismissal from SYRIZA – “Personal decision of Stefanos Kasselakis”
Dimitris Papanotas emphasized that he entered “this game alone”, as “an idealist of the left, as a European leftist”, who sees a danger for Europe and “I tried to put my strength in the direction of avoiding this danger. I entered alone, I did the race alone, alone and with enthusiasm I saw the support of the public, I did not receive congratulations from anyone. I expressed to the party officials my surprise, that I alone was happy with the result, I alone found out what has happened and I never saw the president.”
He himself did not fail to leave spikes, saying that “those whom I defended publicly, these same people were digging the pit for me, and in an unacceptable way. I’m not from yesterday. I have been exposed for 37 years every day on television, I have given my opinions, my history is there, nothing objectionable was found in my political speeches. They went to the time cabinet, found a statement, which they cut and sewed to their own measurements to accuse me.”
Concluding his interview, Dimitris Papanotas emphasized that “I don’t like that they dismissed me when I was ready to resign. It is unethical. The bedouins of politics ate me, thank you, good digestion.”
