The State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office confirmed the death of Martha Paola, sister of Carlos Salcedo, who passed away on June 29 in the municipality of Huixquilucan, State of Mexico. She was 29 years old according to existing records.
Various entertainment figures and Cruz Azul itself, the team for which Carlos Salcedo plays, released messages lamenting the death of the young woman who is currently under investigation, as it could be related to criminal acts.
So far, the footballer has not commented on what happened to his sister, he only thanked ‘la Máquina’ for her post on X and retweeted it.

According to information from Quadratín Estado de México, Paola was attacked outside the Bardum circus in Huixquilucan, State of Mexico, and was taken to the Ángeles Hospital, where she died due to her injuries.
Ernaldo Motriz, a reporter for Univision, shared a message of condolences on X to the player’s family, but did not give details about the death:
“I have been informed of the unfortunate death of Paola Salcedo, sister of Cruz Azul footballer Carlos Salcedo. I was able to get to know her a little and she was always kind. I am in solidarity with her family, especially Mr. Carlos, whom I respect very much and who always treated me kindly. RIP.”
The municipal government of Huixquilucan issued an information card stating that, at around 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, they received a call at the Control, Command, Communication and Computing Center (C-4) alerting about an attack in the El Arenal neighborhood.
“The woman left the interior of a circus to answer a phone call. When she was outside and approached the white van in which she was supposedly travelling, she was the victim of a direct attack from another vehicle, whose occupants fled,” reads the municipal report, which cites witnesses who witnessed the armed attack.

Paola Salcedo, sister of the Cruz Azul player, worked in public relations and was part of a sports program on YouTube called Líderes del Rebaño, where they shared exclusive information about Chivas del Guadalajara.
The 29-year-old also worked as a model. Paola also had two children, one of them with the current Celaya goalkeeper, the Uruguayan Nicolás Vikonis.
In 2018, the Salcedo family experienced a strong disagreement, as the footballer accused them of mismanagement of his career, breach of trust and defamation.
Cruz Azul sends a message for the death of Paola, sister of Carlos Salcedo
Carlos Salcedo’s club, Cruz Azul, shared a message of support where they lamented the death of the player’s sister.
“We regret the sensitive death of Paola Salcedo, sister of Carlos Salcedo. We express our deepest condolences and wish her family and friends a speedy recovery. May she rest in peace,” the statement reads.
The footballer only shared the image of the club on his X account and thanked everyone for their support. “Thank you all,” he wrote.
