The Carolina Panthers apparently want to solve their year-long quarterback problem in the 2023 draft (April 27th to 29th).
According to multiple reports, the Panthers are trading for the Chicago Bears’ No. 1 pick.
In exchange, 9th pick 2023, 61st pick 2023, first-round pick 2024, and second-round pick 2025 go to the Bears. Wide receiver DJ Moore is also joining the Bears. Moore has already confirmed the move on Twitter.
The Panthers are likely to focus on four quarterback favorites Bryce Young (Alabama), CJ Stroud (Ohio State), Will Levis (Kentucky) and Anthony Richardson (Florida). When it comes to playmakers, the franchise has tried a lot in recent years, but hasn’t been happy since splitting up with Cam Newton.
No luck at the quarterback position
Because attempts with Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield did not result in long-term solutions. Even a return from Newton went awry.
However, the Panthers are not only repositioning themselves on the pitch. In January they signed Frank Reich as the new head coach. He should lead the team back to the playoffs, most recently in 2017.
