The Agriniotes took the lead in the 33rd minute with Frederico Duarte, but Torrejon’s own goal in the 72nd minute and another goal from El Kaabi in the 79th minute brought the second consecutive upset of Olympiakos, who continue to count only wins with Jose Luis Mendiliber at his “helm”.
Despite the wide rotation, Olympiacos had an “explosive” start, missing four big chances in the first 25 minutes. In the 18th minute, Podense made the shot outside the area, the ball found bodies, got high and was blocked by Chavez.

The same player missed a very important one in the 45th minute to score a second goal. In a very quick counterattack by Panaitolikos, Frederico Duarte entered the area, but he controlled too much and missed the opportunity to execute, losing possession of the ball.
In the second half, Panaitolikos continued to close the spaces well, looking for a way to “hit” the opposition. Olympiacos had possession of the ball, but could not find suitable partnerships outside of Chavez’s area to threaten.

Piraeus continued to be much more aggressive and their persistence was rewarded with a second goal in the 79th minute. Due to a huge mistake by Mali outside the area (he lost control), El Kaabi stole the ball, passed the goalkeeper and made it 2-1 for Olympiakos.
Panaitolikos looked for an equalizing goal in the final minutes and had its own “moment” in the third minute of stoppage time, when Paschalakis made an amazing intervention by throwing into his “window”, after an excellent direct foul by Sengelia.
