The wife of Crown Prince Haakon is showing the usual symptoms of the disease and she is being followed by her doctor, the Norwegian royal house announced on Saturday.

Princess Mette-Marit, 49 and wife of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway is positive for Covid-19, the royal household announced on Saturday. “The Crown Princess has the usual symptoms and is being monitored by her doctor,” the Norwegian royal household said in a statement. Her husband, Prince Haakon, 49, also contracted Covid-19 in June.

In 2018, the Norwegian royal house also announced that Princess Mette-Marit suffered from pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic disease characterized by damage to the lungs and which can lead to respiratory failure. At the time the royal household said that this disease might “limit the exercise of its official functions”.
