PAN Deputy Chairman Viva Yoga Mauladi happily welcomed the joining of the NasDem Party in KIM. The joining of NasDem and other political parties in this coalition will add strength and unity in building the nation and state.
“Yes, I’m happy. If NasDem and PKS join, this coalition will be stronger, more united and also strengthen the electorate,” he said, Wednesday (14/8/2024).
According to him, it is natural for political parties to encourage their cadres to sit in the legislature or executive.
“This means that the party is increasingly developing its cadres and preparing them to carry out the vision and mission of the political party in development,” he said.
On the other hand, Nasdem Party General Chairman Surya Paloh said it is difficult for Anies Baswedan to advance in the Jakarta Pilkada. The reason is, NasDem cannot alone carry Anies as a requirement for the nomination of regional heads in Jakarta.
“Mr. Anies, you know the current situation, right? It might be difficult for him to run in the DKI Pilkada,” said Surya, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (14/8/2024).

“Try asking Mr. Anies, he is the one who can answer best. Requirements are needed to fulfill the provisions of existing laws,” said Surya.
Surya did not deny that his party would join the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) for the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.
“I think it’s clear. I’ve explained that from the beginning, meaning regardless of which coalition, NasDem is positioning itself directly to be in government,” Surya said. (Sru/P-3)
