TIMNAS The Indonesian Masters Athletic Association (PAMI) succeeded in bringing home 7 medals at the 4th Thailand Open Masters Games (TOMG) 2024, which was held on 24 February-3 March 2024, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The total 7 medals won by the Indonesian PAMI national team consisted of 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
“Soetikno Hendrata won the gold medal, in the 85 year old male category (M85), in the 100 m and 200 m dash. Then another gold was won by Marine Major (KH) Tulus Bagyo Suhud, in the 55 year old male category (M55), in the fast walking event. (race walk) 5000 m,” said Musashi Nainggolan as national team manager in his statement, Wednesday (20/3).
Meanwhile, Musashi won silver in the 40 year old men’s category (M40) in the shot put event and Soetikno Hendrata (M85) in the javelin throw event. Musashi here also participated as a participant.
Bronze medals were won by Merari Nainggolan, 70 year old male category (M70), in the 5000 m race walk event, and Musashi (M40) in the discus throw event.
TOMG 2024 is a sports competition event which aims to promote and support sports activities for master athletes or athletes over the age of 35 years.
The competition emphasizes development and innovative sports to improve the quality of life in global society, as well as supporting a philosophy that allows individuals of all genders and ages to continue participating in sports competitions throughout their lives.
TOMG 2024 lasts for 9 days and competes in 17 sports, including athletics. This competition was attended by more than 3,000 master athletes from 20 countries. (Z-6)
