Palmeiras coach cites Guardiola’s statement about Chelsea

Abel Ferreira, coach of Brazilian Palmeiras, has admitted the advantage of Chelsea, England, before their clash in the 2021 Club World Cup final.

The “Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium” in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi will host the upcoming summit, as both teams aspire to their first world title.

Ferreira said, “The advantage is in the interest of Chelsea, which Josep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, described as one of the best teams currently in the world by virtue of being crowned in the last version of the Champions League.”

The 2021 Copa Libertadores winning coach continued, “Therefore, Chelsea receiving the most nominations in the final is logical.”

Ferrera added, “But Chelsea spent regarding 650 million euros to achieve all this and reach the Club World Cup final, while Palmeiras’ spending did not exceed 35 million euros.”

The 43-year-old expressed his confidence in his team, stressing, “We are able to make the difference thanks to our collective spirit and our great audacity. We will try to possess and impose our philosophy on the opponent to achieve our goal.”

Ferreira was not worried regarding reaching the final into extra time.

The Portuguese coach stressed, “We are used to the pressure of matches… and we are distinguished by hard work, commitment and team spirit.”
