The film “Bye Bye Tiberias,” directed by Lina Soualem, was included in the list of films participating in the 80th edition of the “Venice International Film Festival.”

The film is a Palestinian-Qatari-French-Belgian production documentary, and its events revolve around the character Hiam Abbas, who left her Palestinian village in her early twenties to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress in Europe, leaving behind her mother, grandmother, and seven siblings, and following 30 years, she returns with her daughter, director Lina Soualem, to the village.

The film includes family photos and snapshots from the 1990s and historical archives depicting 4 generations of intrepid Palestinian women who preserve their story and legacy through the strength of bonds, despite exile, looting and heartbreak.
