Palestinian Ministry of Health: Balancing Healthcare Amidst Israeli Aggression

The Ministry of Health confirms that governmental and private health departments, units, and facilities are working in a balanced state to perform their duties

The Information Center of the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the number of martyrs had risen to 413, including 78 children and 41 women, in addition to recording 2,300 wounded, including 213 children and 140 women.

The Center recorded that the occupation has committed at least 8 massacres so far once morest families, claiming the lives of regarding 54 Palestinians.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that its Emergency Committee is closely following the implementation of the emergency plan, stressing that governmental and private health departments, units and facilities are working in a state of balance to perform their duty towards the Palestinian people during the Israeli aggression.

The Ministry stressed that the medical teams had gained great experience through which they were able to deal with the volume and type of injuries, and saluted the people who were “facing a fierce attack from the occupation forces.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the intensification of the Israeli aggression increases the complexity of the health scene, noting that it suffers from a “major shortage of medicines, medical consumables, and fuel as a result of the Israeli siege.”

The Ministry pointed out that the continued electricity crisis poses a challenge to the health system and a threat to the lives of hundreds of wounded and sick people in sensitive departments.

She stressed that technical and engineering crews work around the clock to ensure the operation of electrical generators, explaining that they need 40,000 liters of fuel per day in the event of a 12-hour power outage, which is estimated at one million liters of fuel per month.

The Ministry called on the international community and relevant parties to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to restart the electricity lines because of the danger it poses to the health and humanitarian system.

She said: “We need urgent action from all sides to support our emergency needs for medicines, medical consumables, fuel, and high-capacity electric generators.”

For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Interior reported that the occupation launched a series of violent and intense raids on various areas of the Gaza Strip, including Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, east of Shujaiya, and the Nuseirat camp in the central Strip.

The occupation raids targeted inhabited homes, including the “Shamlakh” family in Sheikh Ajlin, south of Gaza City, “Abu Sakher Bashir” on Al-Baraka Street in Deir Al-Balah, the “Faraj” family on Al-Sikka Street in the Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, and “Al-Attar” in the area. Al-Atatreh in the town of Beit Lahia, “Ghazal” on Jaffa Street in Gaza City, and “Barhoum” in Rafah. This aggression resulted in a number of martyrs and wounded.
