Palestinian journalist shot dead by Israeli army

On the Israeli side, 18 people were killed in a series of attacks during this period, according to an AFP tally.

Tensions escalated between the two sides in recent weeks following a series of attacks in Israel and the West Bank and clashes in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.
