Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls on the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Smotrich

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said, “The statement made by Smotrich regarding the justification of killing and starving two million people from the Gaza Strip is an explicit admission of adopting and bragging about the policy of genocide.”

She considered that “this statement is a flagrant violation of the rules of international law and basic principles of humanity, a blatant challenge to the International Court of Justice and the precautionary orders it issued, and a direct disregard for international legitimacy decisions and international consensus on protecting civilians and securing their basic humanitarian needs.”

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Smotrich, due to his explicit and clear admission of supporting and adopting the policy of genocide, and imposing more collective punishment on Palestinian civilians. It also called on countries to condemn this position and declare a boycott of Smotrich and his ilk and prevent him from entering their territories.

Smotrich said that preventing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip was “justified and moral,” adding, “We are bringing aid to the Strip because there is no other choice,” noting that “we cannot, in the current global reality, conduct a war. No one will allow us to cause the death of two million civilians from starvation, even if it is justified and moral, in order to return our hostages.”
