Palestinian Authority announces start of preparations for Abbas’s visit to Gaza Strip

The agency indicated that this step comes within the framework of Abbas and the Palestinian leadership’s desire to stand with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, who are being subjected to a war of genocide there.

And also to emphasize that the State of Palestine and the Palestine Liberation Organization have jurisdiction and responsibility over this land with the aim of working to restore national unity.

In this regard, communication was made with the United Nations, the permanent members of the Security Council, our brothers in the Arab and Islamic countries, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the European and African Unions, and other important countries and powers in the world, in order to ensure the success of this step, and to provide support and participation to whomever possible. Israel was also informed of this.

Last Thursday, Abbas announced that he had decided to head with all members of the Palestinian leadership to the Gaza Strip, and called for ensuring their safe arrival there. He also urged world leaders and the UN Secretary-General to visit it.

In a speech before the Turkish Parliament, in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he said, “I announce before you and before the entire world, and in the absence of other solutions, that I have decided to head with all members of the Palestinian leadership to the Gaza Strip, and I will work with all my energy so that we can all be with our people to stop this aggression, no matter the cost.”
