Palestine: Netanyahu’s Map Reveals Israeli Right-Wing Government’s Agenda

Palestine – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained on Tuesday that the map presented by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening indicates the “annexation” of the West Bank, and reveals the truth about the agendas of the far-right government.

The Foreign Ministry added in a statement received by Anadolu Agency: “Netanyahu continues and repeats the use of a map that includes the West Bank as part of the occupying state, in explicit and clear recognition of this racist colonial crime, and in disregard for international legitimacy and its decisions, and for the international will for peace and signed agreements.”

She pointed out that “this behavior is a blatant challenge to international efforts to stop the war of extermination and displacement and revive the peace process based on the two-state solution (Palestinian and Israeli).”

She continued: “We view with great concern this flagrant violation of international law, especially since the occupation is practicing the most heinous forms of crimes against our people, in a practical embodiment of an attempt to deny the Palestinian existence and its just and legitimate national rights on the path to displacing it from its homeland.”

They stressed that “what Netanyahu presented in terms of a racist, expansionist colonial policy is being practiced on the ground, in full view of the world.”

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to “respect its obligations and implement the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice immediately and before it is too late.”

On Monday, Netanyahu appeared explaining a map that blurred the borders of the West Bank, which Palestinians considered an explicit declaration of annexing the West Bank to Israel.

This comes as the Israeli army continues its operations in the northern West Bank for the seventh consecutive day.

On July 19, the International Court of Justice stressed that the Palestinians have the right to self-determination, and that Israeli settlements on occupied territory must be evacuated.

During a session in The Hague, Netherlands, to give an advisory opinion on the repercussions of Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories, the court ruled that the occupied Palestinian territories constitute a “single territorial unit” that will be protected and respected.

She added that Israeli policies and practices amount to the annexation of large parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, and that she was “not convinced” that the extension of Israeli law to include the West Bank and East Jerusalem was justified.

In parallel with its war on Gaza, the Israeli army expanded its operations and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, resulting in the killing of 682 Palestinians, the injury of about 5,700, and the arrest of more than 10,400, according to official Palestinian institutions.

The Israeli war on Gaza resulted in more than 135,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children.
