Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said on Tuesday that Pakistan’s geographical location is strategic Shanghai Cooperation Organization providing an ideal commercial and transit hub for the region.
According to Radio Pakistan, he was addressing the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of Pakistan China Economic Corridor for regional connectivity and economic integration.
Ishaq Dar reiterated his strict adherence to the Charter of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and outlined his priorities as the Chairman of the Council of Heads of Government of the Organization, including promoting connectivity, transport links, youth empowerment, poverty including the abolition of and increased practical cooperation among the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Ishaq Dar stressed on the implementation of international law and the United Nations Charter and said that special emphasis should be placed on the peaceful resolution of long-standing conflicts in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
He warned once morest bloc-based and confrontational geopolitics and advocated a multi-polar world based on multilateralism.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized on addressing the root causes of terrorism and fighting it through collective and mutual cooperation.
He said that the use of terrorism for the limited and personal gain of political interests should be abandoned.
Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s demand for unconditional and immediate ceasefire in Gaza and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid. He also emphasized the need to implement the two-state solution for lasting peace and stability.
Regarding Afghanistan, Ishaq Dar said that the international community should establish meaningful contact with the interim government of Afghanistan for the development of the country and to ensure that the Afghan soil is not used for terrorism once morest any country.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a major organization spanning South and Central Asia that was formally established in 2001.
