Pakistan’s economy stands at a critical juncture, US Ambassador – World

Donald Bloom, the US ambassador to Pakistan, has described Pakistan’s economy as sensitive and said that there is a need for reforms. Speaking at a seminar in Islamabad, Donald Bloom said that we want protection of civil liberties in Pakistan.

Speaking at a seminar on Pakistan-US relations at the Institute of Strategic Studies, Donald Bloom said that relations with Pakistan are very important for the US. America recognizes Pakistan’s sacrifices against terrorism. Pakistan’s economy is at a critical juncture.

Donald Bloom said that respect for freedom of expression is very important in Pakistan. Pakistan-US relations are unusual. Last year, the volume of Pakistan-US trade was more than 9 billion dollars. Pakistan exported goods worth 6 billion dollars.

US Ambassador said we are upgrading Mangala Dam with new turbines. An investment of 250 million dollars is being made regarding the provision of clean drinking water. Will continue to invest in the future. We are also investing in the public health sector. Education is also given priority.
