An American company that takes ordinary people to space Virgin Galactic has announced that a Pakistani astronaut is among the passengers on board the expected flight on October 5, 2023.

Although the statement on the website of billionaire Sir Richard Branson’s company, Virgin Galactic, did not identify the Pakistani astronaut, a report in the Pakistani media last month referred to Namira Saleem as being the first astronaut of this year. Another interesting thing is that the Virgin Galactic crew includes the name of pilot Jameel Janjua. From the name, they seem to be Pakistani, but their LinkedIn profile He has written French, the only language he knows. He has been a fighter pilot in the past.

Who is Namira Saleem?

Namira Salim, a resident of Monaco, an independent country in southern France, was officially recognized as the ‘first Pakistani astronaut’ by the Government of Pakistan in 2006.
