Pakistani citizen missing after Hajj rituals, still no news

Mohammad Asjad, an official in the Pakistan Mission in Saudi Arabia who oversees matters related to Hajj, told Independent Urdu that he had checked all the hospitals, but he had not received any information from any hospital.

“Hopefully they will be fine and they will be found soon because if there was a tragedy, it would have been reported by now,” he said.

This is not the first incident that happened during Hajj. Yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan and the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs of Immigrants have also stated that 14 Jordanian pilgrims died while performing Hajj and 17 have gone missing.

Similarly, in 2015, more than 2300 Hajj pilgrims were killed due to a stampede during the Hajj rituals, while 100 people lost their lives due to the collapse of a crane in Makkah.
