Pakistan strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the police headquarters in Iran

Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Iran’s Rask police headquarters and expressed full solidarity. In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, it was said that Pakistan strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Rask police headquarters in the southeastern region of Iran, in which 11 Iranian personnel were killed.

The statement said that we express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office further said that Pakistan expresses complete solidarity with the government of Iran and the brotherly people in this hour of unspeakable sorrow.

The statement further said that terrorism is a threat to regional and global peace and security, it needs to be countered by all means including bilateral and regional cooperation.

It should be noted that 2 days ago (on December 15) 11 policemen were killed in a late-night attack on the police station of Sistan-Baluchistan in the south-eastern province of Iran.

According to the AFP report, Iran’s state TV said that several attackers were also killed in the exchange of fire with the security forces.

The province’s deputy governor, Ali Raza Marhamati, told state television that 11 police officers were killed and others injured in the attack on the police headquarters in the town of Rusk.

The Jaish al-Adl group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement on its Telegram channel.

There have been similar attacks in the past, including the July 23 attack when 4 policemen were killed while on patrol, an incident in which 2 policemen and 4 attackers were killed in a shootout in the province. Two weeks later, Jaish-ul-Adl claimed responsibility.
