Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Sunday that Pakistan will share details of its upcoming budget with the International Monetary Fund in order to release the stalled funds, according to Archyde.com.

“They asked us for more details, such as budget details, and we will give them to them,” Dar said in an interview with Pakistan’s Geo TV.

International Monetary Fund financing of $1.1 billion for Pakistan, part of a $6.5 billion bailout package agreed in 2019, has been stalled since November.

The International Monetary Fund and Pakistan held two weeks of talks in February in Islamabad to wrap up the ninth review, but the lender has yet to release the funds, which is crucial for the South Asian country to facilitate bilateral and multilateral financing.

Dar said he wanted the International Monetary Fund to release funding before submitting the budget, which is scheduled for early June.
