Pakistan bowled out for 239 runs in the first innings

In the first innings of the Mount Manganoi Test against New Zealand, the entire Pakistan team was bundled out for 239 runs.

The first two sessions of the third day of the match were affected by rain, while a few minutes before the tea break, hail started falling, due to which the match was stopped again and the tea break was called.

Pakistan started their first innings on 30 runs with one out but the Kiwi pacers kept the Pakistani batsmen in triple dance and wicket after wicket continued to fall.

Half of Pakistan’s team returned to the pavilion for just 50 runs and Pakistan suffered its sixth loss for 80 runs.

Pakistan started their first innings slowly, with veteran Azhar Ali making just five runs, Shan Masood 10, Mohammad Abbas 5, Abid Ali 25, Haris Sohail 3 and Fawad Alam 9.

National team captain Muhammad Rizwan and Faheem Ashraf showed responsible batting to save Pakistan from following on and the two players shared a partnership of 107 runs for the seventh wicket.

Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 71 runs while Faheem Ashraf played an innings of 91 runs with the help of 15 fours and a six, Yasir Shah was dismissed for 4 runs and Shaheen Afridi was dismissed for 6 runs.

For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson took three wickets while Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Neil Wagner took two wickets each.

It should be noted that New Zealand scored 431 runs in their first innings, which included 129 runs by captain Kane Williamson, 73 runs by Ross Taylor and 73 runs by Henry Nicholls.
