Corps Commander Peshawar warmly welcomed the Army Chief on his arrival in Peshawar on Wednesday.
He attended the meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee where the caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Azam Khan also participated in the meeting.
On this occasion, the Army Chief was briefed about the overall security situation including measures against smuggling, hoarding and drug trafficking.
The participants of the Provincial Apex Committee reiterated that the state institutions are united to protect the lives and property of the people and also paid their respects to the martyrs.
Addressing the meeting, the Army Chief said that we have to coordinate our efforts for peace and prosperity in the country along with promoting cooperation with each other for the development, stability and peace of our country.
He said that the Pakistan Army will continue to play its full role to ensure the development and stability of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province so that the pace of economic development can be increased.
The Army Chief, while addressing the Women’s Symposium in Peshawar, said that in the history of Pakistan, women have played a positive and important role in the development of the country and the role of women in the development of the country is very important.
He said that the women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faced numerous challenges due to the long war against terrorism and despite all these challenges, they showed firm determination and bravery.
General Asim Munir encouraged women to participate more in the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the newly merged districts so as to take full advantage of this change.
