After the conference held in Islamabad, Matthew Miller, the spokesman of the US State Department, while reacting to the positive progress between the two countries, told Pakistan’s private channel Geo News that ‘the United States has bilateral relations with both Pakistan and India and Washington values its relations with both countries.
Responding to a question asked about the arrival of Indian Foreign Minister Dr. Subramaniam Jaishankar in Islamabad and possible talks during the summit, the spokesperson of the Department of External Affairs said that it is now up to both countries to develop bilateral relations. Decide the scope and character of any communication regarding the passage.’

During the SCO meeting, both Pakistan and India softened their traditionally tough stance, avoiding discussing controversial and mutual issues and avoiding blaming each other, which experts are calling a positive aspect.
India ensured its participation in the high-level meeting by sending its Foreign Minister Dr. Subramaniam Jaishankar, who after his speech on October 16 described the event as a ‘productive meeting’.
Jaishankar was the first senior Indian official to visit Pakistan in almost a decade.
While leaving Islamabad after the ceremony, Jaishankar also thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar and the government for their hospitality.
