Airsoft: tactics and fun during rendezvous

Take airsoft for example. At first glance, the sport seems very masculine: replica weapons, military uniforms, big field strategy games… but why shouldn’t women have their place? We’ve had the opportunity to test the campaign internally and we believe it has everything it needs to appeal to female audiences.

Airsoft isn’t just about combat, it’s about being immersed in a world where strategy and adrenaline are key words. First of all, of course you have to plan a certain budget: a complete costume and entry-level replica will cost about 300 euros. Safety equipment including glasses (mandatory) is essential, as is a pair of gloves, long-sleeved clothing, and oral and dental protection. Organizers also ensure that each replica is thoroughly tested before entering the competition.

We tested an impressive 55,000 m2 site in Oldheim (one of the largest sites in Europe), spread over six floors. From the first minute you’ll feel the adrenaline rush. So what about the fear of pain? In fact, this is extremely exaggerated. Of course, the impact of the ball can be felt, but it’s only a slight click and completely bearable thanks to adequate protection.

Here’s what to do in the garden this weekend, August 31st and September 1st

Remarkably, despite the sport’s very masculine image, women have become enthusiastically involved. This is an activity that couples can do together, allowing everyone to blow off steam while bonding. With strict rules and a constant focus on safety, airsoft provides an experience that is both intense and safe.

Paintball: An Airsoft Alternative

Paintball is in the same style as airsoft, but it may be less prejudiced. Using paint bombs instead of marbles gives the illusion of a less painful experience. Paintball is usually associated with the outdoors, but it can also be practiced indoors, although it’s dirtier than its cousins. Despite this, the sport is still considered male-dominated. Paintball is in the same spirit as airsoft, just more fun and maybe a little smaller physically. Finally, there is usually no investment required to practice this experience, since most of the time, everything is provided on site.

Football and cycling: two increasingly hybrid sports

Football is certainly one of the sports where the female presence has become more visible in recent years. For a long time, this field was reserved only for men, but now more and more women are occupying this field. The sport combines teamwork, skill and endurance and is now available to everyone.

Finally, how could we not mention cycling, a sport that is experiencing a real renaissance among the female masses? The recent Women’s Tour de France that passed through our region is proof of this. Crowds gathered along the roads to witness growing enthusiasm for the sport.

Marion Rousse, Demi Vollering, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot… the 5 most influential female cyclists on Instagram

Although myths and stereotypes are still ingrained in our society, engaging in any physical activity is good for your health, mind and body. So, don’t listen to channel rumors, try it out, discover new sports and enjoy them to the fullest!
