Paide coach not afraid of Anderlecht: ‘No Anderlecht resident has Klavan’s CV’

At his last press conference before Thursday’s game, he didn’t mince words. “We eliminated Tbilisi and Ararat Armenia, we also want to eliminate Anderlecht,” said Voolaid, a former Paide player. “We are not afraid of Sporting. They like combination football, but that was also Tbilisi’s game. If Anderlecht faced Tbilisi, I’m not sure they would win by several goals difference.”

When a journalist told him that Anderlecht had more talent in his team, Voolaid gave it a layer. “Of course they all have a nice CV. But no Anderlecht player comes close to Ragnar Klavan’s (ex-Liverpool) record. And what will count in our double confrontation is not individuality, but strength of the team. I can tell you that we are a very close group following our two qualifications.”

His conclusion: “Anderlecht have to qualify, we don’t. The pressure is entirely on them, as it was on Tbilisi. Everyone in Belgium expects Anderlecht to win the first game already, and we hope benefit.”
