Kochi – The family of Padma (50), a resident of Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, who was a victim of human sacrifice at Ilantur in Pathanamthitta, has written to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin demanding the release of her body. The letter was issued seeking intervention to release the dead body.

Meanwhile, the post-mortem report confirmed that the body recovered from Elantur was that of a woman. Doubts were raised earlier whether animal or other body parts were mixed with the dead bodies of women and whether there were any other dead bodies.

Postmortem of both the bodies has been completed. The body samples will be sent for forensic examination. The post-mortem was conducted at the Kottayam Medical College Hospital. 61 body parts were sent for autopsy. Of these, 36 body parts were examined on Wednesday.

Apart from Padma, Rosli (49), who lived in Kaladi Mathur, was killed. Mohammed Shafi (52), who was arrested in the case, lives in Gandhinagar, Kochi, and lives in Kadakampalli, Ilantur, KV. Bhagwal Singh (68) and his wife Laila (59) have been remanded in police custody by the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court till the 24th of this month.
