PACKING LIST: THINGS YOU MUST GO ON A RIVER CRUISE – Martina Berg

It’s not that easy to travel with little luggage. Since I’m often on the road, I’ve put together some packing lists. Depending on the occasion, season and destination, I have filed the right lists in my travel folder. So that you have the right things with you on your next or even your first river cruise, my packing list for the river cruise offers you support when packing your suitcase.

My 12 must-haves for traveling on a river cruise ship

1. CREASE-RESISTANT CLOTHING
When packing, you should think carefully regarding how best to transport your clothes. I have many outfits that are made from wrinkle-resistant material. These are best rolled up and when I unwrap them the clothes are wrinkle free. This technology also saves you a lot of space in your suitcase.

2. PAREO
There are enough bath towels on every ship. But you should take a large one with you for a trip to the beach or to use as a pareo.

3. CASHMERE SCHOOL
The cozy cashmere scarf in a color that is as neutral as possible should become your travel companion. A light scarf is particularly useful when you are enjoying your first coffee very early in the morning, or enjoying your drink in the evening with a sundowner on the sun deck.

4. STEPPWESTE
A quilted vest definitely belongs on the trip. Simply pull it over a shirt or a light sweater. It replaces the jacket that is often too heavy. In addition, you always have enough arm space to be able to move easily on city tours.

5. SUNGLASSES
Two pairs of sunglasses belong in every suitcase. Why two? On the one hand to change, and on the other hand because glasses are often lost when travelling.

6. SHOPPER OR BASKET BAG
A shopper that can be easily stowed away in a suitcase. A basket bag, which already contains a lot when you arrive, fits just as well. Both should be made of robust material. So the shopper or basket bag can be taken to the beach. And on the next city tour everything important is stowed away in it.

7. OVERALL ODER JUMPSUIT
For me, an all-rounder on a river cruise is always a jumpsuit. Whether colorfully striking or kept more neutral. Three different looks can be conjured up with a jumpsuit. Worn on its own, it fits well to start the day. With the quilted vest over it, it is well suited for day trips. A blazer or your favorite leather jacket can be combined with it for the evening.

8. SHOES
When it comes to shoes, it’s not that easy to always have the right ones with you. Flat, comfortable shoes such as moccasins or sneakers must be taken with you on the trip. An open shoe when you move freely and easily on board and a chic pump for the evening look. Of course, the choice of shoes always depends on the season.

9. CARE CREAM
My recommendation is a neutral cream that both soothes the sunburn and provides the skin with plenty of moisture. For many years I have been using an aloe vera cream for this, which is available in many drugstores, even when traveling. You can treat your skin to more of it.

10. THERE CAN ALSO BE RAIN
A small folded one RAINCOAT, which requires little space should be taken along on the trip. Let’s hope it comes home unused.

11. WHO WRITES STAYS
I love to write my daily experiences in NOTIZHEFT. So I never forget my personal highlights of a trip. And if you leaf through it once more months later, you can dream of the last or the next river cruise.

12. SOMMERHUT
A beautiful sun hat is always a smart accessory. However, it is difficult to transport it in the suitcase undamaged. That would be a nice souvenir to treat yourself to in the first port on your next river cruise. I did it like that in France.

PACKING LIST: EVERYTHING IN THE CASE?

If you find out along the way that you have forgotten something very important, this is not a problem on a river cruise. Because the next morning you arrive at a new destination and can certainly buy what you forgot at home.

  • What should you never forget when you travel?
  • Do you prepare a packing list for your vacation?

Important note on your own behalf:

Unfortunately my INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT was HACKED yesterday! Everything is gone, I have no access to my data or pictures. So don’t be surprised why you can’t find me on Instagram anymore. I really hope that Instagram can restore everything. Because if 100,000 followers and over 2,800 pictures were gone, I can’t imagine how everything should continue on Instagram. But I think positively and hope that it will be up and running once more soon. It’s good that I have so many readers on my blog!

Take care of me – lots of anticipation for the next trip!
sincerely
