Kozhikode: While Kerala Medical Services Corporation gave a post of deputy manager and a high salary to a politically influential diplomat, a young man with an MBA degree and ten years of work experience was given a packing job in a warehouse. The backward caste youth filed a complaint before the State Scheduled Caste Commission when he might not bear the abuse on the basis of caste.
After the concerned administrative officer was not present in the first sitting, the commission directed the responsible persons to appear in person. The young man who joined the corporation as a management trainee in 2013 with an MBA degree was transferred to the post of ‘packer’ at the Karunya Pharmacy storage center when he was expecting the post of assistant manager. Eligibility for this post is 8th class. According to the complaint filed by the youth, when he was asked regarding insulting him, he replied that ‘a person who has taken MBA under the benefit of reservation has been given a deserving job’.
The Managing Director was not ready to hear the complaint directly. The young man was also ignored at the stage when the diploma woman was promoted to the post of Deputy Manager, which was set by MPham as the basic qualification. The employees also point out that the union leader who was managing the human resource department was behind the increase of the salary of Rs 30,000 fixed by the board of directors to Rs 40,550 for the deputy manager.
