Venezuelan starter Pablo López reached 10 wins in the current Major League Baseball season, after his outing on Wednesday against the New York Mets.
The Minnesota Twins’ pitcher had a good start in the 8-3 win over the Mets at Citi Field. He pitched six innings in which he allowed only two runs, three hits, three walks and struck out seven.
With these records, the native of Zulia left his effectiveness at 4.65, he is ranked fourth in strikeouts in the American League with 142 and has worked 124 innings. In addition, he has a record of 10 wins and seven losses in 22 starts.
Two other Venezuelans saw action for the New Yorkers: Francisco Álvarez, who went 0-for-4 with an RBI, and Luis Torrens, who took an at-bat in which he hit a single and scored a run.
With the victory, Minnesota has a record of 59-48. They are second in the Central Division of the new circuit, six games behind the leader, the Cleveland Guardians.
