Officers from the Task Force of Traffic Kowloon East Region conducted a driving operation during the suspension period in the district at 10 am today (12th), intercepting suspicious vehicles.
During the operation, police officers stopped and checked a private car with a “P plate” on Cha Kwo Ling Road, Kwun Tong. No third party insurance” was arrested. The male driver has been released on bail pending investigation and must report to the police in early August.
The police reiterated that “driving while a licence is suspended” and “driving without third-party insurance” are serious offences. Both offences are punishable by a fine of $10,000 each and imprisonment for 12 months upon conviction. The Police will continue to step up law enforcement to combat related crimes and appeal to motorists not to try the law by themselves.
