Kattipara (Kozhikode)∙ Former State Agriculture Minister P. Cyriak John (90) passed away. Kozhikode was the end.
He became a member of the 4th Kerala Legislative Assembly as a Congress (R) representative from Kalpatta Assembly constituency and a member of the 5th, 6th and 7th Legislative Assembly representing the Congress from Tiruvambadi. During 1982-83 Karunakaran was Minister of Agriculture Department. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly four times in a row.
Cyriak John, who has worked for a long time in the field of cooperative sector organization, has also worked as the President of Thamaraseri Service Cooperative Bank, the President of Kerala State Marketing Cooperative Federation and a member of the Indian Rubber Board. KPCC, KPCC executive member also held the posts of Farmers Congress State President and NCP State President.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the death of former minister P. Cyriak John. He was an excellent legislator. He became a part of the Left Front in 1980 and later returned to the Congress.
