Owners of a number of phones will not be able to use WhatsApp from October this year

WhatsApp will contribute changes to the messaging service. This will make it impossible to use the application for owners of certain devices from October 24th. We are talking about phones that do not support newer operating systems.
So, the list includes obsolete models iPhone,Samsung, Huawei, Sony, LG, ZTE, Alcatel, Lenovo and other brands. On the messenger website saidthat it is recommended to use Android devices running OS 4.1 and later, iPhones running iOS 12 and later, and KaiOS 2.5.0 and later.

WhatsApp also announced eight new changes to the app:

  • Ability to cancel sending messages for up to two days;
  • The application will notify when the phone number is transferred to the company;
  • Group admins will be able to unsend texts sent by members;
  • Users will be able to send texts to themselves from a connected device;
  • WhatsApp companies will be able to assign certain chats to certain devices;
  • In-app surveys will be available for users to provide feedback;
  • Users will be able to submit error reports within the application;
  • An in-app store will be available where users can make in-app purchases within WhatsApp.

Some of the new features are available now, while others are only available in the beta version of the app. Some of the changes have not been released yet, as they are “in development”.
