Overwatch 2: Overwatch 2 could have a Battle Pass, according to concept art

Overwatch 2 is the balance beam of this poor tightrope walker called Activision Blizzard: in those months in which the rumor was that the company would not survive the accusations due to a bad work environment and that it would end up disintegrating, it was said that Overwatch 2 would survive on its own… later it was said no, that the project would never be finished. And now? Now even Battle Pass has.

The middle Aristation published a concept art with the full consent of its designer Jayson Kirby, in which a sketch of the possible Main Menu of the game is shown. In this you can see tabs already known from the game: character roster, in-game store and challenges. But the one that caught my eye right away was the tab that shows, separately, an option to Battle Pass.

However, the fact that this Concept Art has been published by the official artist it does not even imply that everything it contains is true. That is to say that Kirby has probably included the Battle Pass tab as an anticipation, that is, “should” Activision Blizzard decide to include such a Pass. In any case, it was told as a “possibility”, not as something definitive.

-Of course, we know what you’re thinking: if someone told him, it was for something, but we are an informative medium and we cannot guarantee something that nobody has confirmed. But… guio guio…-

Here is the conceptual art where you can see a menu proposal.Activision Blizzard.

In addition, it should be clarified that this Conceptual Art it’s not even recent. Of course, if it is Conceptual it is because it was created in a very early stage of development. This can only be inferred from the game’s compatibility logos, where it says that the game is in development for Windows, PlayStation 4 y Xbox OneWhy not for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, we’re talking regarding a next-generation game, right? Perhaps it was drawn when the consoles were yet to come out.

The speculations, however, might end very soon. The Closed Beta of the game will start on April 26 and from this first look we will already have access to the new maps, new heroes “and more”. This will include a preview of the game options that they might even point to a Battle Pass?

This Beta will only be available for Activision Blizzard employees and some professional Overwatch players, so at the end of april we should keep up with Twitch to contemplate the first hours of play. Only one question remains in the air: if there is a Battle Pass, does that mean the game is likely to be free?
