The Last of Us didn’t need a fix. Everything is still amazingly well done, from combat to crafting. That said, it’s never a bad idea to refine what’s perfect. With this beautifully enhanced version, this Naughty Dog masterpiece will remain my favorite game for some time to come.

This work cannot create new and lasting memories. Therefore, questions remain regarding the significance of the existence of this game as a product. However, this work as a creation is still exceptional, and I am satisfied with the opportunity to experience it once more in a new situation and new format.

A gorgeous, polished remake of one of PlayStation’s biggest hits, it’s the perfect way to play (or replay) Naughty Dog’s classic survival game. With a completely rebuilt world and subtly improved character performance, it doesn’t have all of the sequel’s great changes, but the movement and AI upgrades make for a game that was already great. It’s a welcome change. Considering 2014’s The Last of Us Remastered, to this day, stands head and shoulders above nearly all story-driven action-adventures of its generation, it argues that this was the remake it needed to be. It’s hard to do.

The game does a great job of recreating what was great in the original, and thanks to improvements in both visuals and gameplay, it makes for an even better journey than ever before.

This is a completely unnecessary remake with a hefty price tag and less content than the PS4 version, and the gorgeous graphics only make the outdated gameplay stand out even more.
