Already in the forecast, it is anticipated that for this Saturday in the Emilia Romagna region, the alert will be raised to red level, the most serious, due to the forecast of intense storms and the increase in the level of the rivers, which have already been affected by the rains of the last few days.

This Friday, the orange alert remains in force in Liguria, and Lombardy, Veneto and Tuscany have been added to this situation, as reported by Civil Protection.

In Tuscany, the Cornia River overflowed and, in the town of Campiglia Marittima, a residence for elderly people requiring medical attention was evacuated. This occurred after the water broke the dam on the opposite bank of the town, flooding land and affecting several homes.

In the towns of Affitti and Banditelle, twelve people who lived in the area were isolated and were rescued by firefighters using boats.

In the Tuscan city of Siena, schools have been closed for several days due to bad weather, the train station has been completely flooded by heavy rain.

According to local authorities, on Thursday night a 75-year-old man was found dead in the Borzanasca area in Liguria, after having been missing for a day after going out with a friend to look for mushrooms.

Another affected area is in the south, on the Sorrento peninsula and the Amalfi coast, with floods and landslides. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is monitoring the situation closely.
