Like the other 7,000 Swiss survivors of childhood cancer, Jamiro now has to deal with a very wide spectrum of late effects. Because if four out of five children and adolescents survive their cancer, healing has a cost. About 80% of them later face sequelae that affect not only their health, but also their professional prospects.
