To combat autumn sleepiness, you need to stick to a sleep schedule, do exercises and use a light alarm clock. This was reported by Raziyat Chupanova, a therapist at the SberHealth service.

“In the summer, waking up is easier due to the optimal, comfortable temperature in the room and exposure to sunlight. <…> As the days get shorter and the morning gradually loses its light signal, waking up becomes more difficult. <…> In summer and winter, if you strive to go to bed and get up at approximately the same time, then the body’s adaptation will happen faster and more efficiently,” Chupanova said in an interview RT. Among other things, she advised doing exercises every morning and drinking a glass of water immediately following waking up.

The therapist added that using a light alarm clock will help you gradually wake up, as the alarm clock simulates the sunrise. Also, avoid drinking alcohol in excess because it can cause drowsiness.
