Jessica Cox, an American young woman, will never forget an experience she had when she was young. It was a big wedding. This is the first time she is participating in such a big event. Many familiar and unfamiliar people were there. She had to walk through the crowd several times in search of an aunty who was attending the event. Every time people paid special attention to her. Because Jessica was a girl without both hands. She felt as if she had become a spectacle in front of everyone. This upset her a lot. The sympathetic behavior and look of those around him became a stretch in that child’s mind.

Unable to bear her grief, she finally turned away from everyone and hid behind a large curtain. He burst into tears and complained to God. He tearfully prayed that there would be a change in his condition. But no miracle happened that day. The hands did not grow. But that prayer was answered later. Years later she came to a pump to fill up her car. She was refueling the vehicle herself using both legs. At this time the driver of the vehicle which was parked behind got out and thanked her.

She asked him why he was thanking him. He replied pointing to his car. His teenage daughter lost her fingers in the front seat of the car in an accident. After that she was depressed and distressed. But when she saw what Jessica was doing today without both hands, her heart was filled with hope. Through Jessica, she gained the confidence to approach her future life happily.
Jessica recognized this incident as an answer to her old prayer. What he does within his physical limitations becomes an inspiration to others. What else is so great? With this, Jessica began to thank God specifically for giving her legs. She told God she no longer needed hands. It was these experiences that later turned Jessica into a motivational speaker and life coach.

Jessica has no complaints today regarding having no hands. Her legs are stronger than her arms. Her legs can do anything her hands can do. She has done gracefully and succeeded in doing things that those who function perfectly in every organ do not attempt to do. Jessica holds the Guinness World Record for being the first person in world history to fly a plane on her feet alone. Behind these successes of Jessica is her strong faith in God. Also striving to succeed in adversity and wanting to help others.

Born without wings

Jessica was born without both arms from shoulder to palm. Born on February 2, 1988 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Parents are often saddened and disappointed when a child is born with a disability. But Jessica’s parents were completely different. They let her do everything herself. However, if they feel that they can do some difficult things alone, they will say no. But she begins to wonder how she can do it herself. Will keep trying. This is the secret of her success in life. She learned everything through constant effort. She was always eager to prove them wrong following successfully completing everything in front of those who dismissed her as having no arms.

Jessica says that it is only when we face adversity that we become capable. From infancy he learned to do everything with his feet. That hard work, she grew up with even as an adult. Jessica, who graduated in psychology, also excelled in the field of sports. She has fought and earned a black belt in taekwondo, ocean surfing, and scuba diving. Jasika’s ability to play the piano with ease and fly on a bicycle with just her legs is nothing short of amazing to the viewers. A perfect devotee of the Holy Mother of God, she testifies that it was the rosaries she offered that lifted Jessica to such an extent. The Holy Mother and Jesus always supported her. “That right hand held me up; His love made me great. (Ps.18:35) The Word was putting on flesh in her life.

A piloted rosary

A fighter pilot once asked Jessica if she was learning to fly. Although there was fear inside, the training started with the support of the family. She began her training with both legs on the plane, which had no modifications for the disabled. He got his pilot license in 2008 following three years of training. Jessica flew to the world record of being the first armless pilot in history. Flying a plane was really scary for Jessica. But she knew that doing the scary things made her stronger. But she got the courage to do this from God. A devout believer, Jessica recites many rosaries before boarding a plane every time.

That, Jessica confesses, is her strength before every take-off. “He gave my feet the speed of a deer; “He has kept me safe on the high mountains” (Psalm 18:33) gave Jessica strength. We must overcome fear and do things with faith in God and courage. Jessica shares that this is how we know Jesus is always with us.
It was also a sign of God’s love for Jessica that she was given the opportunity to meet Pope Benedict XVI. It was when he arrived at the Vatican following his Guinness World Record reception in Milan. It was an unforgettable moment when he presented Papa with the Guinness medal that he had received a few days before. It was even more gratifying that someone like him, who was also an aviator, was able to understand the labor behind his record achievement. Today, Jessica is part of a larger project to design airplanes that fly with legs.

She says her life has changed since she gave up her prosthetic arm at the age of 14. Accept yourself as you are made to be. Thank God. We must realize that God has created each and every one of us without similarity. Life changes when you understand that, and don’t shut anyone out because of disabilities, Jessica reminds. “We should try to enjoy what we are and live by it. That is why today she is traveling all over the world and becoming an inspiration to many,” Jessica’s words. In the life of Jessica, who has traveled to 28 countries and conducted motivational programs, God made the words “You have made my path wide” (Psalm 18:36) a reality. Today Jessica runs a motivational services firm with her husband Patrick. When compared to Jessica’s life success and perspective, thanking God for giving us legs, we should all thank God for everything.
