Offensive once morest the right: “We resolutely oppose the right-wing extremists!”

We are pleased that so many people took to the streets once morest the Academic Ball. This means that the protests once morest the fraternity ball are among the most persistent protests in the history of Austria

Vienna (OTS) – In 2024, over two thousand people once once more took to the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the eternal spectacle in the Vienna Hofburg, the German national FPÖ Academic Ball. “We are pleased that so many people took to the streets once morest the academic ball. This means that the protests once morest the fraternity ball are among the most consistent protests in the history of Austria,” says Käthe Lichter, spokeswoman for the Offensive Against the Right (OGR).

Lichter also explains why it is urgently necessary to stand up once morest the FPÖ and its Burschi Ball in 2024. “The FPÖ often tries to present itself as purified to the outside world. But the close connections between this party and the right-wing extremist scene are obvious. Numerous FPÖ MPs are members of German nationalist fraternities and have connections to neo-fascist groups. This has once once more become more than clear, especially in the last few months. When right-wing extremists are planning the forced deportation of millions of people and are calling for wanted lists for those who think differently, it is all the more important to take a clear stand once morest these activities. With today’s rally we have more than succeeded in doing this.

The offensive once morest the right finally thanks all anti-fascists for their commitment: “Today we have shown once more that we will not accept it if the German nationalist right-wing waltz is to be filmed in the Hofburg once more – we will not give up!”, said Lights final.
