BEIJING, April 17, 2022 (Xinhua) The results of industrial data released by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance showed that the production of new energy vehicle batteries in the country increased by 206.9 percent year on year, reaching 100.6 gigawatt-hours, during the first three months of this year 2022. .
The mentioned data indicated that in the first quarter of this year, the production of 62.4 gigawatt-hours of lithium iron phosphate batteries in China was recorded, an increase of 317.2 percent compared to the previous year.
The data showed that the production of triple lithium batteries recorded 38 gigawatt-hours, an increase of 113.7 percent year on year.
During the said first three-month period, a total of 51.3 GWh of Chinese electric vehicle batteries were installed, up 120.7 percent year on year.
China’s retail sales of new energy vehicles expanded in March by 137.6 percent year on year, to 445,000 units, according to the China Passenger Car Association.
