The goal of the foundation is that by the end of the year, they have performed the mammograms of the day.
Mrs. Edymar had doubts regarding attending a free session of a foundation for the prevention of breast cancer. However, she dared.
He went early on Tuesday, October 25, to the event organized by Alivia Su Carga and Diario scoop at the Hotel Plaza Merú and before 9 in the morning he was at his house.
“I read it in scoop and it gave me time to go, there were many comments that did not call and rather they called me very quickly, I thought they were not going to call me, “confessed the 45-year-old patient.
She had so many doubts, being the first time a patient of the foundation, that when they called her to have the mammogram done, she had already done it on her own.
Even so, she attended her appointment this Friday, November 18, to be attended by the oncologist Donnerys Rivas, from the foundation’s board of directors.
“All free and excellent care,” he said.
In this regard, 41-year-old Francia Urasma also agreed, because they consulted her residence to assign her a nearby health center to perform the mammography.
From Dr. Rivas’s office, she recounted that on the day “I was number 416 and following me, many more women arrived and while we waited, they had talks and they were looking out for us.”
For her part, Dr. Donnerys Rivas, specified that to date more than 200 mammograms have been performed on the patients who were treated during the day and for whom they raised funds in different activities.
Due to the number of patients, the foundation formed an alliance with different health centers in the city to carry out the corresponding studies.
“We are doing an average of 80 weekly mammograms, we already have 208”, he emphasized.
The specialist explained that in order to prioritize patients for mammograms, they are guided by the palpable risk factors that they detected in the day’s check-up. “They will all have a mammogram,” she reiterated.
The goal of the foundation is that before the end of the year, they are attended to in order to refer them to the following stages, as the case may be.
Gloria Gómez, 51, has been attending the Alleviate Your Load conferences for two years.
“The first time it was good, but this time it was better (…) I came for my check-up and I would give her a mammogram, everything was excellent, now I have to do a breast echo,” she added.
Focused on prevention
Dr. Donnerys Rivas highlighted that the Alivia Su Carga Foundation is dedicated to the early prevention of breast cancer, that is, raising funds to organize the annual day and then perform the mammograms with those funds. The following stages of treatment are not covered, however they can guide patients.
